8:00 - 8:30 Morning Meeting and Calendar
Greeting, morning message, compliments and bugs & wishes, physical activity to warm us up (yoga, stretch, dance, breathing!), calendar time
8:30-9:10 Learning Lab
Small Group Rotations through focused differentiated literacy activities
9:10-9:20 Snack
9:20-10:00 Reader's Workshop
Whole group mini lesson on Reading Strategies followed by individual/small group practice of strategies
10:00-10:40 Specials
See "Specials Rotation" below. Wednesday - double specials 10:45-11:25

10:45-11:30 Math Workshop
Brief large group instruction followed by small group rotations of math manipulative activities following whole group math exploration
11:35-12:00 Writer's Workshop/Phonics/Letter Knowledge/Word Work
Introduction and development of various writing techniques
Work on handwriting, fine motor skills, and Word Their Way (later in year)
12:05-12:35 Lunch
12:35-12:55 Interactive Read Aloud (IRA) & finish Writer’s Workshop
Whole group discussion and analysis of a text (on Friday's we have a Mystery Reader)
12:55 - 1:25 Centers
Activities centered on development of social/emotional and building community within the classroom - time for free choice play as well as other teacher directed fun activities - Opportunity for small group instruction if needed
1:25 - 2:00 Science & Social Studies
Activities centered on Science and Social Studies curriculum. Fridays we will typically spend time in the school's Science Lab or conducting Labs in the classroom
2:00 - 2:30 Recess
2:30-2:45 Read - Aloud - Pack Up & Dismissal
Pack up, clean up, wrap-up discussion of the day!
*Gaps in time scattered throughout the day allow for transitions, bathroom/water breaks, &
movement/brain breaks to keep our body and minds ready to learn!
*Schedule subject to change, as our schedule is flexible to meet the needs of all children in our class
